How to Setup and Run Your First Automation

Author: PrompCut SupportLast Updated: June 4, 2026

A step-by-step onboarding guide to pre-fill prompts, configure Google Flow parameters, and launch your first batch run.

Introduction

Welcome to PrompCut! Setting up your first automated workflow takes less than two minutes. The application runs entirely on your local machine, allowing you to queue rendering tasks and batch generate assets efficiently. Workflow audits indicate that automated asset prep saves editors up to 2 hours per editing campaign.

Step 1: Choose Your Tool

In the left sidebar of the PrompCut desktop app, select 'Auto Images' to generate batch images, or 'Auto Videos' to compile image-to-video pipelines. Each tool has its own dedicated workspace.

Step 2: Enter Your Prompts

You can write prompts line-by-line in the main text editor. To test the system immediately, click the 'Watch AI Type' button in the onboarding overlay to populate sample prompts automatically.

Step 3: Configure Settings

Before running, check the settings panel on the right. Here you can tweak settings like resolution, style filters, aspect ratio, and download paths. For your first run, leaving them on default is highly recommended.

Step 4: Launch and Log In

Click the 'Start Automation' button. A secure, local Chrome window will launch. If you aren't logged in, enter your Google Flow credentials. This process runs locally on your machine and your data remains 100% secure.

Step 5: Watch or Let It Run Headless

Once authenticated, the browser runs the automation. You can click 'Show Me the Browser' to watch the bots click and type in real-time, or let it run silently in headless mode. All completed files will download automatically to your target local folder.
